What it is
Milestones track progress toward PnL goals on a broker account - for example reaching breakeven, hitting +$500 since a baseline, or crossing a percentage gain. Tessera can create automatic milestones and lets you add custom ones. Crossing a milestone can trigger a notification.
What you can do
- View milestone progress per account
- Create custom absolute or percentage milestones
- Reset baseline PnL for delta-style goals
- Suppress automatic milestones you do not want
- Receive alerts when a milestone is crossed (if enabled)
How it works
What “PnL” means here
Milestone PnL is the sum of net PnL on closed trades for the account - the same closed-trade basis as much of your Statistics.
Open trades are not included until they close.
Automatic milestones
When enabled, Tessera maintains system milestones such as:
- Breakeven (back to $0 overall) - offered while your closed-trade PnL is still negative
- Absolute steps - e.g. $100, $250, $500, $1,000 since baseline
- Percentage steps - e.g. 10%, 25%, 50%, 100% since baseline when baseline is positive
Percentage bands are chosen so they do not duplicate the absolute ladder awkwardly.
You can turn off automatic milestones in notification preferences.
Baseline
For delta milestones (“since I reset”), Tessera stores a baseline PnL when you first use milestones or when you reset baseline manually.
When you cross breakeven (negative → non-negative), baseline may reset automatically so new delta milestones measure from your recovered level.
Scopes
- Overall - measured from absolute zero (e.g. all-time breakeven)
- Delta - measured from your stored baseline
Custom milestones
You can add your own targets (fixed dollar amount or percent) and edit or delete them.
Notifications
When PnL crosses a milestone threshold, Tessera can emit a milestone crossed notification (subject to your notification settings). Evaluation runs after broker sync and when you view milestones.
Limitations
- Based on closed trades in Tessera - if imports are incomplete, milestones reflect that data only.
- Not the same as broker account equity on deposit-taking accounts unless you are on Liquid live sync viewing full balance elsewhere.
- Suppressing auto milestones does not delete past notification history.
