What it is
Tessera imports Tradovate futures history from an Orders CSV (filled rows). There is no live Tradovate sync in Tessera. Asset class is always futures.
You can optionally upload a Cash History CSV so Tessera can attach per-fill fees (exchange, clearing, NFA, commission).
What you can do
- Import Orders CSV exports
- Optionally import Cash History for fees
- Let Tessera read the Account column as the account code
- Set the timezone that matches Fill Time in the file (usually your PC local time)
How it works
Export Orders from Tradovate
- Open the Tradovate desktop (or web) platform.
- Go to Accounts, select the account, and open account settings (gear).
- Open the Orders tab.
- Set the date range and run / refresh the list.
- Download Report / export as CSV.
Export from Orders, not an unrelated positions-only report. Platform language English keeps headers stable.
Navigation reference: TradeZella - Tradovate file upload (export steps only; Tessera has no Tradovate auto-sync).
Optional Cash History export
From the same account reports area, export Cash History CSV for the same period if you want fees mapped onto fills. Tessera uses fee-type rows (Exchange / Clearing / NFA / Commission); it does not treat “Trade Paired” PnL lines as the trade PnL source.
Import into Tessera
- Choose Tradovate → CSV import.
- Set timezone to the IANA zone that matches Fill Time (typically your computer’s local zone while trading).
- Upload the Orders CSV; optionally attach Cash History.
- Import.
Only Filled rows are used. Tessera pairs opposing buys/sells per Account + Contract (FIFO). Canceled / rejected orders are skipped.
After import
- Re-export Orders (and Cash History if you use fees) when you have new fills.
- Analytics use trading PnL only - see Portfolio growth.
- If chart times look wrong, re-import with the correct local timezone.
Limitations
- CSV only - no broker auto-sync.
- Futures only.
- Orders CSV may omit commissions unless you add Cash History or edit fees later.
- Requires an active subscription.
