What it is
Trade Review is Tessera’s charting view for your historical trades: price candles with entry and exit markers, stop and target levels where recorded, and optional overlays from a report or simulation backtest. It helps you visually verify what happened on each trade in context.
What you can do
- View OHLC candles for a symbol and date window
- See trades overlaid on the chart (entry, exit, SL/TP)
- Focus a single trade or a set of trade IDs
- Load trades from a report cohort or backtest (baseline vs simulated overlays)
- Add notes on the Trade Review tab of a report - see Notes on reports
- Request missing candles to be filled when the app offers that option (may take a moment)
How it works
Choosing what to chart
You pick:
- Symbol and account
- Date window - preset timeframe, explicit dates, or local calendar dates with your timezone
- Optional trade IDs, report, or backtest to define which trades appear
By default, trades in the window are selected by exit date (same rule as Statistics).
Candles
Charts use the same historical market data pipeline as reports and the simulator - not your broker’s tick feed at execution time.
If candles are missing for part of the range, the chart may be incomplete until data is backfilled.
Report and backtest overlays
- Report: show trades from that report’s cohort on the chart.
- Backtest: show kept trades and simulated exit overlays from a saved simulation.
Useful after Exit Placement or simulator work.
All-time window
An “all-time” range resolves from your first to last trade on that symbol (with padding) - not from the beginning of history on earth.
Limitations
- Chart time semantics follow Timezones and dates - align with Trade Log when comparing.
- Candle-based charts do not show every intrabar path your broker may have seen.
- Simulator overlays are counterfactual on past trades - see Understanding when results change.
